 | Just A little About Me! | Oct 23, 2007 |
I have a lot of hobbies which include Tatting, Bobbin Lace, Hardanger, Needle Point, Knitting, Crochet, Sewing, Machine Embroidery, Photography and I love to read. I have been lucky enough to have my lace work displayed in an art center in Pasco County, Fl and also Sheboygan, WI at the Kohler's Art Center. I have done many demos also. I am a member of the "Lighhouse Laces", I.O.L.I, Inc. and also the Heartland Lace Guild along with a lot of on-line groups. I have been a widow now for over 20 years and I had Cockatiels for over 12 years that kept me company, but after my back surgeries, I decided that I had done enough dusting. I gave the last one I had to a very good friend of mine and I go over and visit him often. Someone has to clip his wings.....! I completed a project, but I'm hoping it's quite a while before I have to use it. I was in the knit shop, a new one for me, and I saw this crazy scarf pattern and then this yarn that I liked too so....I bought it. What I made was only a scarf, but it helped get me in the mood to knit again. I have a lot of yarn to make socks with along with some just given me to make a beautiful scrawl with, if I can find a good pattern....anyway, here is my finished project.
I didn't know how else to take this picture of it what with it being a little bit long....It's just called a 'Gathered Scarf'. I think now I'll finish my Hardanger piece and get that on my dinning room table.
OK, time for bed...! Plans for tomorrow being Easter Sunday....taking my sister out for dinner and then a bit of shopping for her.
Have a great weekend....! Here is hopping that out new year will be a better one.....God Bless You All and good health and happiness to everyone...!

Along with my pre-op Dr's visit, lab work, grocery buying (I don't want to run out of food..!) I've still had time to do a little more tatting....
I received one like this from my tatting exchange and loved it so much I searched, asked around and then got the pattern. I did it in a fancier/finer thread and it's definitely smaller and a bit harder to do...! I wish I had this thread in a larger size. Now more searching around to do...
I then did two other trees, but in different colors of thread and beads than before....
The white one with the Antigua green leaves is already gone....
Now I have to go to the post-office and then pick up more supplies for myself... I just finished another one. This one is white! Shows up pretty good for a night photo... I just got through lightly starching them.

I have made three of them so far, but the first one had a mistake in it. I want to add beads to these, but either they are to big, to small or I just don't have enough. So, off to the store I go..!!!
I could either hang them on a tree or turn them into pins. I like the second idea, after I put beads on them first....they haven't been blocked correctly yet either. I love the 3D affect that they have. A tricky pattern.....
Our society is doomed...............
ROSES & HANGING BASKETS A teenage granddaughter comes downstairs for her date with this see-through blouse on and no bra. Her grandmother just pitched a fit, telling her not to dare go out like that! The teenager tells her 'Loosen up Grams. These are modern times. You gotta let your rose buds show!' and out she goes. The next day the teenager comes down stairs, and the grandmother is sitting there with no top on. The teenager wants to die. She explains to her grandmother that she has friends coming over and that it is just not appropriate.... The grandmother says, 'Loosen up, Sweetie. If you can show off your rose buds, then I can display my hanging baskets.

Happy Gardening...... (This is too funny not to share!)
Another theory Came To Light..... The First Senior Moment...
And that's what happened to the dinosaurs.... ÂÂ Link: http://www.suite101.com/content/deadliest-hurricane-in-us-history-a39891Last night I saw this documentary about the hurricane in Galveston, TX and couldn't believe it. What was shown was so bad and sad. One example.. One Sister had these six children tied to her with a rope, so they wouldn't separate, but none of them made it. They were found still tied together. Many more sister's and children lost there lives in this one and were all tied together in this same way......
The hurricane we just had covered a lot more territory, but the lives lost were a lot less...thank God!
So much in history that is not know....
I've been to Trader Joe's a lot, but I've never seen this....!!!

| | The first four pictures are from the on-line newspaper and I took the rest. Some from my car, only because there were a lot of people down there celebrating the 4th and cooler air off of the lake. It was HOT..!!! These pictures were taken a day or two after the storm, so a lot of it was already cleaned up. It happened SO fast, that I didn't even have time to get my camera or video. I wish I did...! There was a team playing baseball, first I saw them, then I didn't..!! It was like a dust storm over there...and branches all over the place. The storm covered the East section of two cities, by the lake mainly. The winds hit inland a bit...
The last two are showing a better day...for sure!! |

| | I went to Lace Day with two other ladies from my lace group. This is held every other year, so I really like to go. I do talk with some of them via the internet, but that's never the same. I didn't take a class this year, because what they were making, I have already made many, many times already. I did buy a few items things though, which were not in my plans... |
This is probably the most amazing picture of 2011 and so cute..!!
Just had to show this one......! I was outside early planting my tomato plants (2) and pepper plants (also 2). I had way to much last year for one person, so I've cut it down a bit....
I hope I can wait until my brother gets home, because using two computers like this is driving me MAD..!!!
Surprise.....I have more birdie pictures for you....! (I heard that...) I have a couple of different ones, so just calm down.
I wish someone could tell me what kind of bird this is. Weird, because all I see it eat are the Oriels food stuff....
Here is the Indigo Bunting that I was impatiently waiting for...finally!!!

This is a Downy woodpecker. I looked it up in a friends book...

Here is our yellow finch...they are so pretty... They around all year, but change color in the Winter then with a shade of brown and green.

OK, the RABBIT is back again. Once the corn cobs are gone, I'm not buying anymore... I think it knows I'm here....!! This is a female cardinal...surprised I got this picture. They see any activity and off they go...

It was pouring out yesterday, so I took the bowl out of the fancy feeder and put it in my pot that's waiting for flowers (tomorrow I hope). The cardinal saw it right away, but the other bird (first one on the top) came, looked and left...dummy!!!

OK, kind of hard to see, but here is one of the hummingbirds...finally! I have a good one on video and will post it soon...
I'm pretty sure this is the new baby...
Second picture of the Indigo Bunting....
I'm a real nature lover lately.... The temperature is supposed to be going up in the 80's along with humidity...now that I'm not looking forward to, but I have had so many birds outside that right now I'm loving it. I've had to work between two computers in order to get my pictures re-sized and everything, but with all the rain today, I had to do something...hope you all like birds! I've shown some Oriels already, but your going to see just one more...
First, a Bluejay.... The male Cardinal....he is quite a skid-dish bird. I couldn't get to close...
Here is this dumb squirrel, trying to get the food I put out for the Cardinal...and here he sits eating the orange slice...err!!!
And now, he dropped one of the orange slices and guess who is eating it?
 Yup, a chipmunk...!
OK, a couple more birds...
This is our state bird, a Robin....it has been here under this bush all day long, shielding it's self from the rain...it caught a worm once!
I got this picture of the Oriel from between my vertical blinds. I usually don't see them this late in the day....
OK....all done...!! | Guestbook | |

| Finally making it by....Hope this Tuesday is filled with every blessing for you... |
| The one you saw me with is a small one Barbara :D If bitten the symptoms are usually a mild local pain, numbness and swelling. Occasionally nausea and dizziness can occur after a bite. We have to seek medical attention if symptoms persist, but usually they keep away from ppl. Their web is really sticky and we come across them in the gardens at night a lot. Thanks for stopping by |

| Good morning, my friend. I do hope this note finds you anticipating a wonderful Holy Week. It has gotten here so fast this year. I've been spending a little less time online recently as we try to catch up on some yard work and chores. I have a bit of spring fever and have been trying to enjoy this nice weather. Also, our youngest son and his girl are moving next month and I've been trying to help them out some. Things haven't gotten any better at work, unfortunately...still working short handed and longer hours. A breather coming up in that area soon in the form of a 9 day vacation. Yippee ! I may be helping with the move, so I'm trying to get a lot of my stuff done if I can. I have my 34th wedding anniversary coming up in April and my eldest son will be having a birthday. :)) I have been trying to keep up with personal comments and blogs, but I have been very remiss in visiting everyone's pages. Hopefully when the move and my vacation ends that will change. At any rate....now you are up to date on me. I wish you a blessed Easter week. Have a colorful and fun celebration...the greatest gift is already ours ! |
 | Hello my dear Friend, Sending you love and best wishes for a beautiful week and the arrival of Spring ~ enjoy the season ~ ~blessings&hugs ~brenda :) |
